All best paper award winners and authors are encouraged to submit their work to theJournal of Small Business Management(JSBM). JSBM is one of the oldest and most recognizable journals in the field with a purpose to publish scholarly research articles in the fields of small business management and entrepreneurship. As the official journal of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), the JSBM is recognized as a primary instrument for projecting and supporting the goals and objectives of this organization, which include scholarly research and the free exchange of ideas. The journal, which is circulated in 60 countries around the world, is a leader in the field of small business research. As ICSB President David Smallbone stressed during the conference’s closing luncheon, JSBM has widened its scope under the new Editor-in-Chief, Dr. George T. Solomon. The newly revised mission of JSBM is ‘All manuscripts should address research issues in a rigorous way using qualitative, quantitative or a combination of these techniques; however, JSBMencourages the incorporation of pragmatic advice for practitioners based on the research results.’

Global Entrepreneurship: The Latest Research on Business Creation
This workshop and symposium is designed for two groups of participants:
Scholars analyzing longitudinal data sets on business creation will have an opportunity to meet and discuss their efforts as “works in progress” as they are developed for submission to peer review journals. Those working with panel data from a variety of countries are encouraged to attend.
Those designing and implementing longitudinal studies of business creation will have an opportunity to learn from the experiences of those who have already implemented such panel studies.
Presentation Deadlines: Submit, electronically to
icsb@gwu.edu, a working paper no later than 01 September 2010. Authors, whose papers are accepted, will have an opportunity to present their own work and they will also be expected to prepare and present a review of another paper.
Observer Registration: Those planning to attend as observers should notify the organizing committee of their intentions by September 1, 2010.
Registration Fees:
PhD Students:Conference registration is waived
Participants:Conference registration: $200.00
Presenters: Conference registration: $150.00
Participants will be responsible for their travel, hotel costs, and some meals. Conference organizers will provide a reception, lunch, and a conference dinner.
