ICSB Bulletin: April 2010

 

Welcome to the April 2010 edition of the ICSB Bulletin. The ICSB Bulletin has been established to capture the major ICSB news stories of the past month.

April was an exciting month for ICSB as we look forward to the 2010 ICSB World Conference. Authors of accepted abstracts are now submitting their final deliverables and attendees from around the world are taking advantage of our early registration rates. With a diverse mix of international papers and workshops accepted into the conference, we are anticipating a great conference in June. Don't forget to register today at www.icsb2010.org

ICSB 2010 Early Registration Deadline Extended!
The Early Registration Deadline has been extended to May 10, 2010. If you have not already registered, now is the time to do so. With a diverse mix of international papers and workshops as well as some exciting keynote speakers confirmed, the 2010 World Conference promises to be a memorable event..

ICSB 2010 Final Submission Reminder
Authors of accepted papers are cordially asked to upload the final paper and 100-word summary online. Authors of accepted workshops are only required to submit the final 100-word summary. Please submit all documents online and remember to register in order to secure your spot in the program. We're looking forward to meeting you in Cincinnati.


April Updates from the ICSB Office
April has been a very busy month for the ICSB and we would like to provide some important updates here. The 55th Anniversary ICSB World Conference is coming up at the end of June, so please secure your registration by April 30, 2010 to enjoy early registration rates. 


Unfolding Innovation - Seminar in Salerno, Italy
The Università di Salerno and ECSB hosted a seminar at the Campus Universitario di Fisciano on April 23, 2010 to discuss 'Unfolding Innovation: Promoting and Sustaining the Culture of Innovation.' 


ECSB Policy Conference in Stockholm on May 5, 2010
The Future for Entrepreneurship and SME Policies in European Countries is a one day conference on Wednesday May 5, 2010 in Stockholm, Sweden at the Lundqvist & Lindqvist conference center. The cost is free.

Corporate Governance Workshop & RENT Conference
Submission deadlines and conference information is provided for the 7th Workshop on Corporate Governance that will be held in Brussels, Belgium in June. Also included is information about the ECSB RENT Conference.


World Entrepreneurship Day from Rothman Institute
World Entrepreneurship Day is the internationally recognized day for the celebration of entrepreneurship. It is celebrated on the second Friday of every April (this year being April 16th).

Last Call for Papers - AIE 2010
The 3rd Annual Conference for the Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2010 (AIE2010) will be held in the capital of China, Beijing, on July 9 -11, 2010. The AIE 2010 will be the most comprehensive conference focused on the various aspects of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.


ECSB Double Bill: Webinar and Policy Conference
Under the title, 'The Future for Entrepreneurship & SME Policies in European Countries,' ECSB is hosted an interactive webinar and one day policy conference.



Paper calling for 36th ISBC parallel session
It is our honor to invite you to the 36th International Small Business Congress (ISBC) to be held this Oct. 4th-7th, 2010 in Taipei, Taiwan where more than 800 delegates around the world are expected to participate and attend meetings with the main theme "Stride Across the Uncertain Age to New Opportunity and New Future".

ICSB Global Entrepreneurship Summit - April 29
In his June "A New Beginning" speech in Cairo, President Obama announced that the U.S. will host a Summit on Entrepreneurship to identify how we can deepen ties between business leaders, foundations, and social entrepreneurs in the United States and Muslim communities around the world. The Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship and ICSB's Global Entrepreneurship Seminar, both held in Washington, DC, helps to follow through on President Obama's commitment.

Learning by Doing in Entrepreneurship Global Forum
The School of Entrepreneurship Management at Feiyang College is the first national approved business management college in China. On April 9 and 10, Feiyang College hosted their first annual Global Forum aimed to provide a platform for academics, governmental policy-makers, and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and experience related to new venture creation.

2010 Outstanding Commitment Awards from CGIU
The Clinton Global Initiative University’s 2010 Outstanding Commitment Awards, sponsored by Walmart, will award anywhere from $1,000 - $10,000 to support student-led projects in the areas of Education, Environment & Climate Change, Peace & Human Rights, Poverty Alleviation, and Public Health.


SME-At-Risk: Online Portal
Professor Simon Gao and Dr. Thomas Henschel, both from Edinburgh Napier University, developed a website for risk management in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. The website’s subject is  to support and interlink small businesses  as well as researchers.
