Columbia's Center for Entrepreneurial Development

 

Established and Still Blazing New Trails – Columbia’s Centro de Desarrollo del Espirtu Empresarial

Winner of the USASBE 2010 Global Entrepreneurship Education Award

The “Centro de Desarrollo del Espirtu Empresarial” (Center for Entrepreneurial Development) was created on January 1, 1985 as an academic unit of the Unversidad Icesi, with the mission of forging a new Entrepreneurial Culture through academic processes and with the permanent participation of the academic and entrepreneurial community, full of innovation and social responsibility, to be an engine of development in all its facets.

There are many elements that make CDEE unique and of which the longevity of the program and its evolution to a mature but yet innovative in teaching pedagogies. Professors of the center received very important distinctions for their work in the areas of entrepreneurship and SME development.

CDEE is not sitting on its laurels but forging ahead with new programs, new methodology, and new funding schemes. They are in the process of adapting SBDC concept in Columbia in which it should be operating very shortly. (Click here to learn more)
