ICSB Bulletin - July 2009 |
Welcome to the July 2009 edition of the ICSB Bulletin. The ICSB Bulletin has been established to capture the major ICSB news stories of the past month.
 The July edition of the ICSB Bulletin offers important updates on a number of ICSB-related initiatives. From competition and world conference announcements to survey results and affiliate updates, we strive to keep you abreast to the latest news from our growing, global network of researchers, educators, practitioners and policy makers. Aside from this news, we also remember an admired colleague and friend, Dr. Donald Myers, in this edition of the bulletin. Dr. Myers is a Past-President of ICSB and a fellow of both ICSB and USASBE. On behalf of the ICSB Board of Directors, I extend our deepest condolences to the Myers family in this very difficult time.

2009 DELL Global Finalists Announced!

DELL has announced the National Finalistsfor the 2009Global Small Business Excellence Award. National Winners will beannounced in September, followed by the selection of a global winner in Fall 2009. All national winners will compete for theGlobalAward, which includes an entrepreneur's summit hosted by DELL Chairman and CEO Michael Dell.

The Results are In! 2009 W.C. Evaluation Survey

Immediately following the Conference, an electronic survey was sent to delegates for evaluations and measurements of the overall satisfaction of the conference. Of the 65 total respondents, 95% were ‘satisfied' with the conference and 92% said they would attend another ICSB Conference in the future.

ICSB/JSBM Editor's Choice Award for Best Paper

The 11th Annual ICSB/JSBM Editor's Choice Awards for Best Empirical and Best Theoretical Paper were presented at the 2009 ICSB World Conference in Seoul, South Korea. Our sincere congratulations go to the winners, who will receive a plaque and a check for $500 USD for the author(s).

USASBE Global Entrepreneurship Education Award

First, an update on the status of our application for registration as an Egyptian NGO, a process that we started almost a year ago. All of the inspections have been completed and we expect to have the final legal registration number by the end of July!

Writing Cases for Teaching Entrepreneurship

It is a well told and compelling story that should capture the richness and dynamics of a decision-making experience in enough detail to create an environment for experience for students and to drive challenging individual study and small and full-class discussions.
