Welcome to the 24th Annual CCSBE Conference

Your organizing committee invites you and your colleagues to join us at the 2007 CCSBE Conference scheduled for November 1-3, in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.

The theme this year is Connecting… Policy, Practice and Research and highlights you, our members.  The program focuses on the sharing of your concepts, your best practices, and your solutions for supporting the goals of entrepreneurs and enhancing the success of small business.  In support of the theme, we have attracted an outstanding array of plenary and guest speakers.

The conference offers several opportunities for you to contribute to the theme.  To begin, we encourage you to submit a full paper (or abstract) for blind review or a workshop proposal for program committee approval.  As well, symposia promoting the integrated theme and with a slate of 3-5 participants are of interest to the conference program committee members.

In addition to the conference program, we have planned networking opportunities where you and your colleagues are encouraged to exchange ideas and build on your areas of expertise.  A very significant effort is being made to broaden and deepen your participation in the program.

Location - The Grand Okanagan Lakefront Resort, Kelowna, BC

Imagine contributing to the success of growing businesses and, at the same time, enjoying a setting surrounded by majestic mountains, pristine lakes and award winning wineries.  Within this beautiful setting, The Grand Resort offers many amenities, from a fully equipped business centre to a European-styled spa.  As well, its location is within walking distance of the Kelowna cultural district, fine dining and boutiques.  (See ‘Accommodations’ for special CCSBE rates)

Dates - November 1-3, 2007

The conference begins on Thursday, November 1 with an interesting networking event at The Grand.  The Friday gala dinner, which features a wine tasting and silent auction, literally transports you to the picturesque Summerhill Pyramid Winery.  The full program promises that our connecting will continue long after lunch on Saturday when the 2007 conference concludes.

Who should attend?

Interested parties are CCSBE members.  We are also encouraging you to meet with colleagues and friends who share your interests.  Plan to meet them at the 24th annual CCSBE conference by inviting them to attend.

Students from Okanagan College’s Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) and Student Connections will be assisting with the operation and success of the conference; we encourage you to integrate your students into presentations or introduce them as new participating members.
Your organizing committee at Okanagan College extends a warm welcome and looks forward to seeing you at the conference in Kelowna BC.
